As it turns out we're happy we went with Jake. Our long-distance research led us to a particular neighborhood, but as I said to Jake on the phone, "I've picked a neighborhood in a city in a state where I've never been, and reality could be quite disappointing." Instead of taking us right to where we were considering he showed us various homes and locations within the Wilmington region so we could "see what a dollar will buy in the area." In the end we found a spec house and purchased it. It very much helped us looking elsewhere to confirm our original goals. Whenever we needed him, Jake was quick to respond and follow through. What many don't realize is one of the most important services a real estate agent can bring to the table is providing referrals to other service providers. We utilized a mortgage broker, a home inspector (even though it's new construction - we learned the importance in one of Jake's videos), and an insurance agent based on Jake's recommendations.
